Take your own creativity to new heights in a peculiar and new way of self-expression on urban art tour and graffiti workshop in Osijek.
In this tour you will learn about the increasingly popular subculture of urban art, its styles, technique and terminology, and the meaning of certain expressions, as well as the difference between graffiti and street art. Your guides will be local artists who have over 30 years of drawing/artistic experience between them. Rebus and Goner, members of the Original Skillz Hip-Hop Team and the legendary STW (South Two Writers) Crew.
Graffiti is a type of artwork which is periodically altering the streets so that each new visit to the city is welcomed by some new artwork embellished in beautiful colours which bring otherwise gloomy walls, passages and houses back to life.
Perhaps the most famous of all, which reads “OSIJEK NEPOKORENI GRAD” (OSIJEK UNBROKEN TOWN) – is a protected cultural heritage, created on the day following the horrendous occupation of Vukovar on 18.09.1991. The city of Osijek was exposed to heavy armed attacks. The graffiti was written by the late defender (during the Homeland War) Predrag Sušac. The deeply meaningful graffiti is respected throughout Croatia and still sends a strong message of Slavonian pride, resistance and defiance today.
After a walk through the urban culture scene of Osijek, we will arrive at our last location and the “Sugar Wall” best known for the graffiti of the 90’s, the final years of the last century when Osijek had the best graffiti scene in the Balkans. This wall simply pulsates when compared to the lifeless grey colour of the industrial plants of Osijek Sugar, which rise solemnly behind the wall. We will stop at this location and begin with the practical part of the tour. You will learn how to draw sketches which are done with graffiti sprays, which techniques are used when creating a piece of graffiti, what to pay attention to when spraying a wall and what else could be painted in this way.

This tour is inappropriate for children under the age of 14.
The graffiti workshop can unfortunately not be held in the case of wind and/or rain.
